The Field Report · re-verified weekly
Departist tracks 829 grants, residencies, juried exhibitions, and prizes across 49 countries, and re-verifies every single one against its own live listing. This is what the field actually looks like right now.
Last verification pass: August 202601 · The headline nobody prints
Aggregate lists keep circulating calls that closed months ago, and some that no longer exist at all. Deadlines pass, foundations dissolve, pages move. The list you're reading is only as good as the last time somebody checked it.
02 · The fee truth
The fee farms are loud, but they're not typical. Serious grants and residencies are overwhelmingly free to enter; a reasonable juried show charges about the cost of a tube of cadmium red. When a "prize" wants three digits from you, that's the business model, and you're the customer.
03 · The broken doors
In our most recent link audit, roughly nine percent of application links on live calls led to error pages, moved applications, or security warnings. We find the real door before a call ever reaches an artist.
04 · Why this page exists
Every record in the Departist library has been re-verified within the last 30 days: status, deadline, geographic eligibility, accepted media, and link health. Records we can't verify get quarantined, not shown. Departist doesn't make art and doesn't learn from yours - it's software on your side of the table that searches the funding world, vets out the fee farms, and tells you the truth.
Departist matches vetted calls to your medium, your level, and where you live, and emails you the few worth your time, with the honest case against each one.
